Chapter 2: Tabby Cat

As Meh wandered around the city, she noticed that all the inhabitants were speaking in another language, maybe English, but very friendly. When she asked for directions to Tabby Cat, the inhabitants went out of their way to find some other cat to translate their directions and direct her to Tabby Cat, who seemed to be quite well known and respected. After bidding farewell to the kind citizens, Meh took in the palace where Tabby Cat lived. It was a massive house with a cat face and the letters "TC" engraved on the doors. Quivering with fear, she stumbled up the marble steps to raise the cat's head knocker. She knocked once, twice, three times. She stepped back. She heard quick paw steps from inside and then the door creaked open. Behind the door was a grey tabby who was probably the TabbyCat, the warrior who she was looking for.

"Good day there! What brings you to my abode?" asked Tabby Cat jovially. Unfortunately, it seemed that the Tabby Cat didn't Mehnese either while Meh explained.

"You're from Mehopolis aren't you? Hang on a sec, oh and do come in." said Tabby Cat as she walked back into her castle. Meh walked in after her, only for her jaw to drop. There were grey banners hanging from the wall with a picture of a devil wing and an angel wing, side by side. There were comfortable-looking crimson pouffes around a cozy fireplace. The carpet looked new.
Meh wondered why she had never seen anything like this in Mehopolis in all of her 12 years there. Well, maybe the cats there were too busy tending to their own meh-tters.

"Wait, let me just find something to help me understand your Meh language." Said Tabby Cat, "In the meantime, you can just make yourself feel at home." Meh wondered what the TabbyCat meant. Maybe she had some uber-cool slime busting gadget? For a second, Meh pondered about what language TabbyCat spoke.

"Okay, so tell me what you want again," said TabbyCat, flicking through a Meh to English dictionary and so Meh slowly told her the whole story while TabbyCat flicked through the dictionary, figuring out what Mehwas saying. Eventually, Meh managed to get TabbyCat to the point where she understood the whole situation.

"Wow, what a story (I should probably write something like this for the Meh Society). I'll be more than happy to help and besides, I owe those slimes some good REVENGE." replied TabbyCat, while looking through the dictionary. Meh liked this response; the two cats were allies in vengeance. "Maybe we'll be better partners than Beethoven thought, seeing as we are joined by a common goal." thought Meh the Cat.

"Oh and I do know some people who could help, how about we head over to their cities? They are quite far away though, I'm going to need to prepare for a long journey." said TabbyCat, while translating it to Mehnese.

"But what will this city do without its ruler?" asked Meh the Cat

"What would make you think I'm the ruler?" questioned TabbyCat in broken Mehnese.

"Err, the big house and everything."

"Oh, I just have this because I'm rich; the ruler is my neighbor (and quite a boring one, too)! Anyway, let me just prepare and we'll head off. I hope you like walking."

Meh sat down and waited for TabbyCat to prepare. "I guess this could be a lot worse. At least she's trying to help. It's going to be an adventure, a seemingly boring adventure."
