Chapter 8- A Stunning Experience

The group started trudging through the desert. If the slime camp was underground then they could be walking on it. Meh looked at her team mates. Mehler, Sherlock and
Shaimoustache all seemed to be quite careful and looked around every now and then for signs of movement or something to mark the slime camp. Tabby seemed quite casual. Under her black fedora, she seemed to be smiling as if she was excited to take out a slime camp. Brrelleg seemed to be quite casual too, but not like Tabby. She gave off a more indifferent air, as if she didn't even care that they were taking out a slime camp. Meh decided that if these were the people who she was going to work with to take back her city, she might as well build up some sort of strong connection.

"So Brrelleg, just out of curiosity, how exactly do you use that gun of yours?" asked Meh. Nobody else seemed to be listening but Meh and Brrelleg.

"I just slam it on the slime so they get stuck in the gun and then when the gun is full, I fire it at the other slimes," replied Brrelleg nonchalantly. Her beady black eyes were darting around the edge of the desert, and she licked her lips anxiously. Brrelleg continued walking and did not once look at Meh who was bravely trying to continue the conversation. Meh soon realized that she was getting nowhere and she could have picked a better conversationalist. And still Brrelleg looked out towards the distance, eyes scanning the desert, almost as if...she was searching for something? As if Brrelleg could hear her thoughts, her eyes suddenly fixed on a point and she just kept looking intensely at it. Meh had a gut feeling that something was up. Unnoticed by Meh, Brrelleg fingered a small device on her belt and sent a signal to that point.

Brrelleg suddenly ran to the front, telling Sherlock something, and then took lead of the group, leading them to the valley between several sand dunes. Meh quickly rushed up to
her.

"Brrelleg, how come you've been staring out in the desert for the whole walk?" asked Meh innocently, after a few minutes. Brrelleg didn't reply. Clearly Mehler had
overheard, because soon after Meh had said that Mehler replied.

"Maybe it's the fact that the slimes are closing in on us from all sides!"

Everyone looked around. Yellow slimes had suddenly appeared around the edges of the gentle dip between the sand dunes and even more were coming. This was not good. Everybody raised their weapons and formed a little circle with all their weapons pointing
at the slimes.

"Say, Brrelleg, if you saw those slimes, why didn't you tell the rest of us?" shouted Meh, miffed. As expected, no reply. Brrelleg wasn't much of a talker. The slimes soon stopped no less than 5 metres away from the group. All of them jumped in perfect sync. A loud thud was heard as they landed and for a moment there was nothing but the sound of silence. All of a sudden, the ground beneath them collapsed. The sand fell and beneath was just a rather deep pit. Everyone fell to the bottom of the pit, screaming, with the exception of Brrelleg. Meh narrowed her eyes and grabbed Brrelleg while flailing around in mid-air.
"Pray tell, what caused your betrayal?" After what felt like forever, falling in darkness and hearing the wind rush around them, the group landed at the bottom, which was luckily covered with soft sand. Their weapons had fallen out of their grasps and were handled by yellow slimes. Although there was a soft landing, every member of the group had been bruised. In front of all them were these two bright yellow glowing almond shapes with...pupils? Nobody could tell what they were apart from the expert, Tabby.

"It's a dragon! Everyone, up on your feet!" yelled Tabby while she jumped onto her feet and the same sword she used the first time Meh fought slimes with her. She had
pulled it out of her backpack in the fall. Her rocket launcher was all that had been taken from her by the slimes. Meh didn't understand a word but one thing
for sure was that this was a big deal. The dragon came out of the darkness. It roared so loudly that the walls shook and the entire place rumbled. The noise
was deafening. Yellow slimes swarmed in while they were distracted and shot electric bolts from behind. Everyone was stunned. While stunned, they were all
dragged to separate cells with thick soundproof walls in between. None of them could move or do anything to stop it. It was a completely stunning experience.
